Rather than paying the standard conference registration fee, scholarship recipients are responsible for a $75 registration processing fee.
A very limited number of scholarship applicants may also be considered for a $500 travel stipend. For recipients who are local to the conference area, the travel stipend amount is $100. Travel stipends are awarded at the discretion of the conference and are not guaranteed as part of the scholarship.
Travel Stipends are provided as a fixed payment following the conclusion of the conference. Recipients may use the funds at their discretion, and receipts are not required. Potential expenses may include airfare, transportation to and from the airport, meals not covered by conference registration, airport parking, and other travel-related costs. The stipend amount is fixed, and there is no option to request an increase. Travel stipend payments will be issued via direct deposit after all applicable requirements have been completed. Recipients must fulfill any required volunteer hours or poster session participation, when applicable. In addition, recipients must attend and sign in at the Travel Stipend & Reimbursement Session on Friday, March 19 in order to receive payment.
